Rooms

Hey guys. I'm so sorry for not posting stuff enough. I'm so busy, currently trying to put together a field study report, it's not going that great. Anyway today I a package from bookdepository finally landed in my mailbox! "Rooms" by Lauren Oliver. I had hoped that it would arrive earlier so I'd have time to read it before Halloween but no such luck. It'll have to wait until after my exams.
Anyway this is it!

Beautiful cover right? I love the color!

That's all from me today!

P.S I added an Instragram gadget so that you guys can see my posts on there as well, @eeelas is my username on there!

The Selection

Hey guys. I was right about the books in the package. Along with a book for school I ordered some leisure reading as well. This is what was in the package:

The Selection by Kiera Cass boxed set

I love the covers and I'm so excited to read these. Hopefully I'll get the chance soon.

That's all from me! Have a nice day!

Blog tip/sorry

Hey guys, it's busy season for studying right now. But it thought I'd hop in and tell you guys about a blog that a friend of mine started recently. It's also a book blog, quite similar to mine actually and I thought I'd help a sister out and tell you guys about it. So please check out http://rickusbokblogg.blogspot.se/, the owner of this blog is named Erika and I know that she would love for you guys to hop in and read some of her reviews and comment on some stuff.

On another note, I'm feeling a bit sick at the moment, I've been having some trouble sleeping lately and Tuesday to Wednesday night I only slept for about two hours which resulted in me being really sick when I got home from school yesterday. But I got a message saying that I had a package to pick up so hopefully there'll be some books for me to tell you about later this evening.

I hope ya'll are having much better days than I am! I'll talk to you soon!

Re-read?

Hey guys. I'm sitting here watching Twilight and I'm thinking about re-reading the Twilight saga. I'm feeling very nostalgic this evening. Found some old videos I made when I was fifteen and a really big Twifan. I'm really over it but the books still hold a special place in my heart. If I'm going to do a re-read I think it will have to be during christmas break or something 'cause I don't see when I'd have time to before that.

So what do you guys think? Should I do a re-read? And also do you think the books or the movies are better? I think the books are way better all though I think that the Twilight movie was better than the rest of them. I generally think that the books are better than the movies, I have yet to see movie that's better than the book. Let me know what you think!

Sorry

Hey guys. I just wanted to apologize for my crappy updating. But I'm really happy to see that my blog is spreading throughout the world. Most of my readers are from Sweden, hej Sverige! America is in second place so hello to all you Americans out there. I've also got readers from Finland, Denmark, France and most recently the Netherlands so terve, hej, bonjour and hallo to all of you as well! I'm really happy that so many of you are here. I never thought that I would reach this many people. Anyway, I would love to give you guys a book review or something but I'm so busy with school and stuff. I've got an essay to hand in tomorrow and a presentation on Wednesday. It's really stressful. I did order a new book a few days ago "Rooms" by Lauren Oliver. I felt like reading something scary now that Halloween is coming up and everything. So I'll let you know when that arrives.

Anyway, have really nice day if you're in the states and evening if you're in Europe, and I'll talk to you soon hopefully. Please comment, I would love to know who you are and how you came to stumble upon my little blog. Take care!

Book Gif Tag

Hey guys. Bella over at Bellas bokblogg tagged me in this Book Gif Tag challenge. I'm not 100% sure what I'm supposed to do but I'm gonna do my interpretation of it. I got this list of books and then I chose some GIFs that shows how I feel about each book, all though it was kind of hard since I haven't read all the books on the list. Anyway here we go!

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks (read/own)

Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins (read/own)

Britt-Marie var här by Fredrik Backman (haven't read)

Eleanor & Park by rainbow Rowell (haven't read but want to)

Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo (haven't read/own)

A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin (haven't read)

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (haven't read yet/own)

Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion (haven't read)

Cinder by Marissa Meyer (haven't read)

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin (read)

This was actually really hard and with some of the GIFs I felt like Robert Downey Jr up there *points* just "meh" you know. And yes Sweet Evil deserved two. Please don't ask me about Game of Thrones, as soon as someone mentions that book or the show I go all Barney Stinson on their asses, so yeah. Anyway I thought this was a really fun thing to and I'm not really tagging anybody, if you want to do this then please do.

That's all from me for now!

Releases

Hello again! I wanted to share with you which books I'm patiently awaiting. Here we go!

The retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins is the third book in the Mara Dyer series. It's scheduled to be released on November 4th this year, so only about 20 days left!

Captivated by you by Sylvia Day is the fourth book in the Crossfire series. It's scheduled to be released on November 18th this year, which is just a little over a month away, yay!

Sweet Temptation by Wendy Higgins is the fourth book in the Sweet series. This one isn't scheduled to be released until September 8th 2015 so there's almost an entire year left before it comes out. At least it gives me a lot of time to read Sweet Reckoning.

Just thought that I'd share this with you. Have a nice day!

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks (The Syrena Legacy #1)

Original title: Of Poseidon
Year published: 2012
Published by: Fiewel and Friends
Number of pages: 326 plus the first chapter from Of Triton and a short story called Legacy Lost
First sentence:  “I smack into him as if shoved from behind”

Plot:
Emma has just turned eighteen when the worst thing imaginable happens. Her best friend dies in a shark attack while they’re on vacation together in Florida. After that life just doesn’t seem worth living, that is until the boy she met that same day on the beach turns up at her school. Galen is unbelievably attractive sure, but there’s something about him that Emma can’t quite put her finger on. Before she even has time to recover from the death of her best friend she is swept up in a world she thought only existed in fairytales.

My thoughts:
This is an amazing book. Really. I love all the characters even the ones I didn’t like in the beginning of the book. The main characters evolve so much during the course of just a couple of weeks and I kept thinking that if I were in Emmas shoes I probably would have killed myself or somebody else by now. But she just keeps fighting despite all of her hardships and the things she learns about her life. I’m not sure I’ve ever been as excited to read a second book before. Of Poseidon ended with such a cliffhanger that I don’t know what to do with myself right now. So I’ve established that Emma is an amazing young woman and I’m not sure that I even want to get into the whole Galen ordeal yet. I’m still recovering from reading about him. No I think I’ll skip Galen for now, sad but true. I’ll go on to the amazing humor in this book. It’s not often I laugh aloud while reading books, especially not books with this much heartache. Since Emma and Galen have been raised very differently (she says without spoiling anything) they have some trouble understanding each other (mostly Galen has trouble understanding Emma) and this makes for some really funny moments. Emmas humor alone is funny but when you add Galens confusion to that it’s just amazing!
So to sum up, this book is amazing and I think you should all give it a try.

Favorite funny moment:  “As far as I can tell, chillin’ is the equivalent of being in a coma, only awake.”

On Goodreads I gave this 5/5!

Sorry for my crappy plot summary, keep in mind that this is my first review ever (basically, I don’t count the ones I did in school).

Please comment!

Soon

Hello everyone! I just thought I'd hop in to let you guys know that there will be a review up on the book of Poseidon by Anna Banks soon. I started reading it last night and finished it this morning. I think the small amount of time it took me to read it says much about what I thought about it. So stay tuned!

Finally

Hey hey hey. The books finally arrived! Too bad I can't start reading yet :(

Beautiful right?

Peace out!

xx Kayla

My day today

Hey guys. I see I've gotten a few more readers from different countries, bonjour France!

Today I'm going to try and finish reading "Adventures on the high teas"since I've got an essay draft that needs to be ready on Wednesday and it's about the book. Feeling a bit stressed but anyway.

Here's what I'm doing right now. Watching the latest episode of Once upon a time and looking at this boring book cover. I should get to it.

I'll update later today if the books arrive otherwise I'm probably not gonna write anything until tomorrow.

Take care!

Taylor Swift Book Tag

Hi guys. This is kind of my way of making up for not being so active on here. I was tagged by Bella at Bellasbokblogg and decided I'd give this Taylor Swift book tag thing a try. I made a video of me answering the questions and I apologize beforehand for my terrible accent, it sounds weird I know. Also apologize for the lousy sound quality, it sounds like I lisp as well but I don't. I also look very tired and bla bla bla

Wearing this stupid looking headset because I thought it might make the sound better but it didn't and I'd already done it twice already.

Here's the list with song and everything:

QUESTIONS:
1. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together - pick a book or series that you were pretty sure you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with.
2. Red - pick a book with a RED cover.
3. The Best Day - pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic.
4. Love Story - pick a book with forbidden love.
5. I Knew You Were Trouble - pick a book with a bad character you couldn’t help but love.
6. Innocent (written b/c of Kanye West!) - pick a book that someone ruined the ending for.
7. Everything Has Changed - pick a character from a book who goes through extensive character development.
8. You Belong With Me - pick your most anticipated book release.
9. Forever and Always - pick your favorite book couple.
10. Come Back, Be Here - pick the book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much.

BONUS QUESTIONS:
11. Teardrops On My Guitar - pick a book that made you cry a lot.
12. Shake It Off - pick a book that you love so much, you just shake off the haters.

Please comment if you agree/disagree or have any questions. I know it's hard to hear what I say sometimes and I'm seriously considering buying a camera for these types of things.

I'll talk to you soon!

Wattpad

Hi! So I've spent most of the day reading fanfictions on Wattpad. I've been especially hooked on an author with the pen name KatieGuinn (link). She's written a lot of stories and I've read far from all but those I have read are amazing. I've read two about Loki (Avengers played by Tom Hiddleston) called "A Change of Fate" and "A Twist of Fate" and also a Robert Downey Jr fic called "Dreams come true" and I've been fangirling so hard. Anyway, the point is that this author is amazing and you should really check out her stories! Currently I'm listening to Robert Downey Jrs' version of "Smile" on Spotify, it's amazing!

Here it is! Robert Downey Jr - Smile
Enjoy!

What I'm gonna do now I don't know. Maybe I'll go to bed early so I have the energy to study all day tomorrow!

Have a nice evening!

Sick

Hey guys. Today I'm at home, woke up at five in the morning feeling like crap so I decided to stay at home. I'm currently updating my goodreads page (link) and I'm shocked by how few books I've actually read. I do believe however that I've read some more that I've forgotten about. You guys should check out my profile and see what books I've read, maybe you'll get inspired. A warning though, I've mostly read YA and paranormal romance.

That's all for now!

More fool me

Hello!

On my wishlist for christmas, or now if anybody wants to buy it for me, is Stephen Frys' "More fool me" as seen below.

Last week I went with my classmates and a few teachers to watch Stephen Fry talking about his book and many other things. We didn't actually see him in real life but we went to a live streaming at a movie theater in Västerås. To be honest I didn't know much about Stephen Fry before that, except for the fact that he played Sherlock Holmes' brother Mycroft in the movies starring Robert Downey Jr. Anyway, he is an amazing person. I was really inspired by him and I actually cried when I heard about the troubles he's faced just because he's gay. Of course he also said a lot of fun things during the live streaming. I would really love to read the book. I think there will be crying and laughing hand in hand throughout it. So yeah!

Be inspired!

Waiting

Hey!

So I know that my updates are lacking at the moment. The only thing I have to say in my defense is that I have a lot going on in school and fall has really crept up on me and I'm caught in this sad mode all the time. But I thought I'd let you know what I'm wating for at the moment. I placed an order at bookdepository last week and I got a mail saying the books were on their way yesterday (yay!).
Here's what I ordered:

Of Poseidon by Anna Banks
Book 1 of 3 in the Syrena Legacy series.
I don't really know much about it. Bella over att Bellas bokblogg is the one who recommended it to me. This is the first book we're reading in our new little book circle. I'm really excited to finally have someone to discuss books with!

Of Triton by Anna Banks
This is book 2 of 3 in the Syrena Legacy series.

Torn by Amanda Hocking
This is book 2 of 3 in the Trylle series. I've already read the first one which I loved. I don't want to give too much away but it's about a girl named Wendy who finds out she's a changeling. Hoping to read the second one soon.

Ascend by Amanda Hocking

I'm really looking forward to reading these. Of Poseidon is the first one up since it's the book my little circle of booknerds are supposed to read in October. The others will have to wait. Hopefully I'll read them before the new year.

That's all for now!

xx Kayla

Goodreads

Hi guys!

So I just signed up for Goodreads and added a little widget on the side here so you can see what I'm currently reading. You could also check out what I've read, it's not completely updated yet but I'll get there.

That's all I had for now!

Readers

Good day to you all! It's 11am here and I've basically just gotten out of bed (technically I'm still in bed). Well I'm ill so that's my excuse. Today I need to do some studying and then I'm just going to chill so that hopefully I'm well for the weekend. Maybe I'll do a review on one of the books I mentioned yesterday. I'm not making any promises though.

I checked the statistics of this blog a few minutes ago and saw that I have readers outside of Sweden! I would really like to know who you are, why you are here and how you found this blog. So please leave a comment. I love comments.

As I'm writing this I'm placing an order at bookdepository for number two and three in the Trylle series (Torn & Ascend) and the first two in the Syrena Legacy (of Poseidon & of Triton). I probably shouldn't be buying more books but I cant stop myself, also the Syrena Legacy books I'm only buying because of the bookcircle me and my two friends started yesterday.

Anyway, leave a comment, follow on twitter or something!

Talk to you later.

September bookhaul

Hi! Thought I'd do a bookhaul post. I got a lot of new books in September. Too many actually since I don't really have time to read anything other the course material. I'd wanted to post a picture of the books but I'm sitting on campus right now and don't have access to the books! Anyway here's a list of the books I bought in September:

Harry Potter and the philosophers stone -  JK Rowling
Switched - Amanda Hocking (done reading)
Afterburn & Aftershock - Sylvia Day (done reading)
Mazerunner - James Dashner (reading)
Fallen - Lauren Kate (reading)
Shatter me - Tahere Mafi
Safe Haven - Nicholas Sparks (reading)
Evolution of Mara Dyer - Michelle Hodkins
Twilight saga white edition - Stephenie Meyer
John Green the collection - John Green (with David Levithan)

So I've read a few, am reading a few and twilight saga the white edition I bought only because they're beautiful and will look really good in my bookshelf.

Two of my friends and I decided to do kind of a book circle starting now. We're starting with Of Poseidon by Anna Banks and then continuing on that series. Should be fun.

Anyway I'll try to do a review on the books I have read soon.

Talk to you later (hopefully)!

xx Kayla
